Simpsons Comics #186 Review

I really enjoy the fact that they did a hardback cover for the Simpsons #186 issue. I really enjoy the front cover artwork as well. It kinda has a watercolor feel to It as well. Nevertheless, I found this issue to be interesting considering the fact that they brought back an old fan favorite character that's been longing for many years. Yes indeed, It's Sideshow Bob, and he's back with a purpose, to get revenge on Bart Simpson.

Word out on the street Is that Sideshow Bob Is back out for revenge and he smells the remains of Bart Simpson, the one who imprisoned sometime ago. Returning to Springfield In the righteous name of Itchy and Scratchy, he reunites with there creator, Chester J. Lampwick. Together they dance and sing on the streets, while Bart runs Into him and asks why he isn't living In a nice house. Chester says he enjoys the successful life but remembers his years as being a bum and goes back to those times.

Meanwhile Lisa finds out that the library Is closing down and that no one Is really reading books anymore. Everything Is going digital and Lisa try's everything In her path to stop it. Sideshow Bob opens up an amusement park In the name of Bart Simpson and offers a public apology for all the times he has tried to kill him. Bart and Lisa then go down to the amusement park to ride the rides, only to find out It Is a complete death trap. Sideshow Bob Is arrested, Lisa and Chester re-open the library, with the fee of standing In line to get In, of course.

Overall, I think this was a pretty fun issue to read. I have always enjoyed Simpson comics. The art for the storyboards Is well laid out and I like how they portrayed Sideshow Bob In a more laidback sense, instead of being that psycho serial killer. I also like how the drawings don't look vectorized and digital, and instead gave It that old school drawing look and looks like It was photoshop inked. It kinda takes me back to the 90's. Bongo Is starting off great In 2012 and I will continue to be a follower of the Simpson comic series.
