Who destroyed Atlantis? In the start of a new storyline, we follow the hunter as he stalks and kills his prey, claiming their weapons and armor as trophies. A golden shield, a golden helm and the final prize is the most powerful of all: a golden trident. The only problem is, he's going to have to go through Aquaman to get it. Who is he? What is the secret of Aquaman's trident? And how does this all tie into the destruction of Atlantis?

What I like is that each issue is so different that I can still find plenty to say after writing quite a few Aquaman reviews the last few months. The Others is shaping up to be another great arc, so check it out!
-
There is a little bit of decompression to this issue — the last page is an act break that I feel would have been more satisfying in the first few pages — but the book looks good, and promises some fun new additions to Aquaman's world.
-
This is such a great book, and if you're not reading it then shame on you because you're missing out on a great character with a great story featuring the writing of Geoff Johns and the pencils of Ivan Reis. It's a book the lives up to the hype.
-
Johns does here what writer Scott Snyder has done with Batman. By respecting the source material and spending the first six issues reestablishing the greatness of Aquaman, Johns slides the new angles he’s created into the story perfectly.
-
If you're willing to reserve judgment and follow Johns down this rabbit hole of continuity he's brewing, then Aquaman looks like it's going to become a much more layered title than previously thought.
-
Here is where Johns hits his stride, veering away from meta jokes in favor of real, old-fashioned, long-term storytelling.
-
The mystery of Atlantis and the history of "The Others" promises to bring some amusing stories and this installment is the perfect shallow end for new readers to ease in.
